Job Description:
The senior scientist will be responsible for developing and validating new analytical methods for the testing of vaccines and biotherapeutics. Tasks will include:

  • Developing analytical methods for vaccines and biotherapeutics.
  • Performing assay validation as per ICH/VICH guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate records of experiments
  • Interpreting assay data to troubleshoot or improve assay performance
  • Operating in a GLP facility following GxP regulations
  • Preparing SOP’s, validation protocols and reports
  • Preparing/presenting project updates to clients
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc./Ph.D. in a related area or B.Sc. with 5+ years experience.
  • Experience developing ELISA’s, QPCR, and HPLC methods for biomolecules.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for vaccine/biotherapeutic analytical methods.
  • Experience with cell culture/bioassays.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and good organizational skills.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in vaccine development would be considered an asset.
  • Experience interacting with customers would be preferred.

Job Description:

  • Process Development for vaccines and biotherapeutics including upstream and downstream activities
  • Maintaining accurate records of experiments
  • Analyzing process data to improve process performance and consistency.
  • Operating in a GLP facility following GxP regulations
  • Preparing SOP’s, validation protocols and reports
  • Preparing/presenting project updates to clients
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc./Ph.D. in a related area or B. Sc. with 5+ years experience.
  • Experience in upstream processing including bacterial fermentation, cell culture, seed banking for vaccines/biotherapeutics at small and pilot scales.
  • Experience in downstream processing including liquid chromatography, tangential flow filtration and product formulation for vaccines/biotherapeutics at small and pilot scales.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for vaccine/biotherapeutic development.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and good organizational skills.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in vaccine development would be considered an asset.

Qualifications:

  • MSc/PhD in immunology, virology, molecular biology or related field. MSc with 5 years of lab experience, or PhD with two years of experience.
  • Lab experience in molecular cloning and fermentation required.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and good organizational skills.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience working in vaccine development would be considered an asset.
  • Cell culture and/or biotech industry experience would be considered an asset.
